Hailing from the cedar swamps of the U.P. (Upper Peninsula of Michigan), my dad was a hunter and trapper, and my mom gardened and foraged. As a kid, I frequently got in trouble for drawing on the desks in school and often had to stay after class to wash them all.
Luckily, I put that passion to good use. Now, with 20 years of experience in design and marketing, I mostly keep my drawings in a sketchbook.
After some time exploring, I settled in beautiful Benzie County along the Platte River. I share my home and life with my partner, a local ukulele player and improv comedian, two creative teens (one a budding writer, the other an artist and programmer), and a tiny but mighty pitbull, Lil' Miss Shortcake.
I also enjoy my time away from my computer. As a Wilderness First Responder, I have hiked hundreds of miles solo, including sections of the Appalachian Trail. I love word puzzles, biking, local music, and volunteering in my community.
